DIPLOMAS AWARDED TO THE CLASS OF 2009, 2010, 2011
The State of Kentucky and the Daviess County Board of Education have set the basic requirements for graduation from Daviess County High School. This diploma offers no seal or endorsement other than the student has met the minimum standards as set forth by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and Daviess County High School. The requirements are as follows:
1. Enrollment in at least eight semesters of high school beginning with 9th grade.
2. Successful completion of the following courses:
Math: 3 credits including, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Intro to Algebra 2 or Algebra 2
Science: 3 credits including, Integrated Science, Biology and Earth and Space
Social Studies: 4 credits including, Global Studies, World Civilization, U.S. History, Government (1/2) and Economics (1/2)
Arts/Humanities: 1 credit
Fit for Life: 1 credit
Computer Applications or
Computers in Ag. 1 credit
Academy Electives: 2 credits
Other Electives: 7 credits
3. Class of 2008-2010 requires a successful completion of a total of 26 credits.
1. Enrollment in at least eight semesters of high school beginning with the 9th grade.
2. Successful completion of the following courses:
Math: 4 credits including, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 and Algebra 3 or above
Science: 4 credits including, Integrated Science, Biology, Earth and Space, and Chemistry or Physics. (Total Science credits must be four)
Social Studies: 4 credits including, Global Studies, World Civilization, U. S. History, Government (1/2) and Economics (1/2)
Foreign Language: 2 credits including, Course 1 and 2 of the same language
Arts/Humanities: 1 credit
Computer Applications or
Computers in Ag. 1 credit
Academy Electives: 3 credits
Other Electives: 5 credits
3. Class of 2009-2011 requires a successful completion of a total of 29 credits.
HONORS DIPLOMA
1. Enrollment of at least eight semesters of high school beginning with the 9th grade.
2. Successful completion of the following courses:
English: 4 credits including, Accelerated English 1, 2, 3 and AP English 4
Math: 5 credits including, Algebra 1, Geometry, Accel. Algebra 2 (1) or Algebra 2/Algebra 3 (2), Pre-Calculus, AP Statistics or Calculus 1 (1)
Science: 5 credits including, Integrated Science, (1),Biology, Earth and Space(1), or Science Elective Chemistry or Physics, and AP Science Class(1). (Total science credits must be five)
Social Studies: 5 credits including, Global Studies, World Civilization, U. S. History, Government (1/2), Economics (1/2) and AP U.S. History or AP European History, AP Government, AP Economics
Foreign Language: 2 credits including, Course 1 and 2 of the same language
Arts/Humanities: 1 credit
Fit for Life: 1credit
Computer Applications or
Computers in Ag. 1 credit
3. Class of 2009-2010 requires a successful completion of a total of 30 credits.
· Students must schedule required prerequisites for any AP course.
