Coach Francis P. “Bill” Taylor
died April 8, 2007. He was a unique and unforgettable person, and his
blend of competitive spirit, compassion, and wit were one of a kind.
Coach Taylor believed in education and loved the game of football;
through these interests he profoundly impacted the lives of young
people. He cared deeply for his student, both on and off the athletic
field. In 1996, he completed a 27 year career at Daviess County High
School as teacher, coach and athletic director.
Several of Coach Taylor’s former
teammates, players, and friends began a scholarship in his name which
will enable his legacy to benefit students for years to come. The Coach
Bill Taylor Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a DCHS student who
will attend WKU. The student must demonstrate personal qualities of
excellent character, integrity, dependability, industriousness, and
human compassion. The scholarship is renewable for 4 years if the
student maintains a 2.8 GPA and continues to demonstrate good
citizenship at WKU.
If you would like to contribute
funds to perpetuate and acknowledge Coach Taylor legacy, your tax
deductible contributions can be sent to:
College Heights Foundation
WKU
1906 College Heights Blvd.
Dept. 41016
Bowling Green, KY 42101-9977
Checks should be made payable to College Heights Foundation and marked
