The DCHS NJROTC is planning a trip to Parris Island, South Carolina on January 23rd. We will be returning Friday January 26th. The exact flight times will not be available until about a week out.
We will leave school via bus after 1st block on Tuesday. Be prepared to buy your own lunch on the way to Evansville. We fly out of EVV at 1345 central arriving in Beaufort at 3:55 Eastern time.
Return:
Leave Beaufort MCAS at 4:45 eastern and arriving in Evansville at 6:45. The busses should arrive back at DCHS around 7:45pm
We will be visiting the Marine Corps Boot camp. We will be conducting training under the supervision of Marine Drill Instructors. I expect to have the full itinerary sometime next week. We have asked to participate is the following training activities at MCRDPI; Morning PT, Confidence course, obstacle course, simulated marksmanship training (laser), team building exercises from the crucible. We will attend a graduation ceremony on Friday before returning home. The exact arrival time will be posted on the web as soon as I get it from the Navy.
This will be a physically challenging trip. The Marine Drill Instructors will give the cadets a small glimpse of what it is like to be a Marine Recruit.

The trip will cost $60. Make checks payable to DCHS. This $60 will cover their air transportation to South Carolina (via military transport from Evansville), all food, and bus transportation around Parris Island.
